The US refused to release Afghan funds under the pretext of Al-Zawahiri's presence

Washington: On the completion of one year of the Taliban government in Afghanistan, the United States announced that the presence of al-Qaeda leader Ayman al-Zawahiri in Kabul is a violation of the peace agreement, so it will not release frozen Afghan funds.

According to the American newspaper New York Times, Tom West, the special representative of the United States of America for Afghanistan, has said that they will not act hastily in restoring the frozen funds of Afghanistan because there is no guarantee that if the frozen funds are released, this money will be released. It will not fall into the hands of terrorists.

Tom West alleged that the Taliban regime gave safe haven to al-Qaeda leader Ayman al-Zawahiri, who was killed by US intelligence in a drone strike. This reinforces our concerns regarding the transfer of funds to terrorist groups.
