Turkish airstrikes on Syrian border posts; 17 people died

Ankara: Syrian border posts were bombed by Turkish Air Force planes, as a result of which 17 people, including Kurdish fighters, were killed and many were injured.

According to the World News Agency, the clashes between the US-backed Kurdish fighters in the Koban region of Turkey and Syria are continuing. The Turkish army carried out a series of airstrikes on the border posts in which 17 people including Syrian military personnel and Kurdish fighters were killed.

In a statement issued by the Turkish Ministry of Defense, it is said that this operation was carried out in response to the attack on our territory by the fighters of the Syrian Democratic Forces, a Kurdish separatist party, in which a Turkish soldier was also martyred.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, an organization that monitors human rights in Syria, confirmed 17 deaths in the attack of the Turkish army and said that 3 Syrian soldiers were among the dead, while the majority were Kurdish fighters.

According to the Syrian state news agency, a spokesman for the Syrian army said that any attack on any military outpost guarded by our armed forces would be responded to directly and immediately on all fronts.

It should be noted that clashes continue between Turkey and Syrian Kurdish fighters, while two years ago, Turkish troops in the Kurdish areas also launched Operation Cleanup, which is still ongoing.
