Massachusetts: A healthy lifestyle can help protect us from many chronic diseases. This may be possible because in order to stay healthy we care about the protection of the internal organs which is directly related to a healthy diet.
A study found that consuming about two cups of grapes in the diet reduces fatty deposits on the liver and prolongs life.
During the experiments, mice were fed a high-fat diet. At the same time, grape juice was also given daily in a small pot. The results showed that these mice had less fat on their livers and lived longer than their fellow mice.
The research, led by John Pizzotto, dean of the Western New England University College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, determined whether grapes could counteract the effects of a high-fat Western diet.
Professor Pizzoto said that the change revealed in the research will be related to the increase in human life by four to five years.
This series of studies was published in the journal Food.
