Burkina Faso; 35 people including students were killed and 37 injured in the mine explosion

 In the West African country of Burkina Faso, 35 people, including students, were killed and 37 injured in a mine explosion on a convoy of traders.

According to the World News Agency, a landmine exploded in the West African country of Burkina Faso when a school bus and a convoy of businessmen were passing by under military protection.

The blast killed 35 people, including students who were returning home after the end of the academic year. Among the dead are mostly local traders who were going from one city to another city to buy and sell goods.

While those school students including children and women are also included while 37 are injured. 12 of the injured have been admitted to the intensive care ward.

Trucks and buses in the convoy were also damaged in the mine blast. Military personnel accompanying the convoy were safe in the attack.

No group has yet claimed responsibility for the attack, but Burkina Faso shares borders with Niger and Mali, and militants continue to carry out such operations across these borders.
