Mark Bennett is said to have been barred from leaving the country after his release and it is not known whether he will be re-arrested.
The report said that his arrest came after he resigned from Qatar Airways and received a job offer from another travel firm.
A former colleague of Mark's has stated that Mark's move was taken as a massive insult by figures within the company.
Qatar Airways said Bennett sent highly classified documents to a private email address, which was reported to the police.
A UN legal team was due to visit Qatar to inspect detention centers on allegations of human rights violations a day after Bennett was released on November 2, 2019.
Mark Bennett was later allowed to stay in a hotel in Doha with no documents relating to his arrest or any legal proceedings.
Despite being popular with a wide circle of friends and family, Bennett is said to have left no suicide note or given any indication of suicide, but the night before his death he had a video call with his family in the UK. But was noted laughing and joking.
Qatari authorities declared his death a suicide, but a forensic doctor in the UK says that there was no specific evidence of suicide.
Speaking to The Times News, Bennett's widow, Nancy Bennett, said there are many questions he left behind in the world.
