According to foreign news agencies, 46 people were killed and many injured by a 6.6-magnitude earthquake in China's Sichuan province. According to the US Geological Survey, the earthquake was at a depth of 10 kilometers underground. Several houses were damaged by the earthquake and landslides occurred.
Infrastructure has been damaged in the earthquake-affected areas and electricity supply has also been suspended. Relief operations are underway in the affected areas.
