Iran; Death toll rises to 75 in 10th day of protests over arrested girl's death

 Tehran: Protests continue in Iran after the death of a girl in custody. The death toll in police crackdown and violent incidents rose to 75.

According to foreign media, protests have been going on for 10 days in different cities of Iran over the death of a girl arrested in custody on the issue of hijab.

75 people have been killed so far in the crackdown and violent incidents of the security forces against the protestors. Security forces have arrested 1200 people including 17 journalists. Internet service is suspended in different areas of Iran.

The government of Iran summoned the ambassadors of Britain and Norway and recorded a protest, accusing it of interference in the country's internal affairs and unilateral coverage. 220 Mehsa Amini, who was in police custody, died of a heart attack on September 16. Mehsa Amini was arrested in Tehran for not wearing hijab.
