Lister's telephone call to Saudi Crown Prince, thanking him for his role in the release of British prisoners

 British Prime Minister Liz Truss has contacted Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman over the phone on Monday.

According to the Saudi news agency SPA, during the communication, Prince Mohammed bin Salman expressed his condolences to Prime Minister Liz Truss on the death of Queen Elizabeth II and congratulated King Charles III on his accession to the throne.

The Saudi Crown Prince also congratulated Liz Truss on being elected as the British Prime Minister and expressed his desire that she be the leader in performing her duties well.

The Saudi Crown Prince has also expressed his desire to work together for the interests of Saudi Arabia and the United Kingdom.

Liz Truss thanked the Saudi Crown Prince for his role in the release of five British prisoners and the successful exchange of prisoners from Russia and Ukraine.

On this occasion, the two leaders have also reviewed the mutual relations between the two countries and ways to develop bilateral relations on modern lines within the scope of the Saudi-British Strategic Partnership Council.

It should be remembered that Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman has released ten prisoners from five countries through successful mediation for the exchange of prisoners between Russia and Ukraine.

 The Foreign Office had said in a statement that "Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman is continuing the series of humanitarian measures regarding the crisis in Russia and Ukraine." They have succeeded in freeing ten citizens of Morocco, America, Great Britain, Sweden and Croatia.

It was said in the statement that "the relevant institutions of Saudi Arabia took the prisoners from Russia and transferred them to the kingdom and facilitated their safe return home."
