'Rise of the Witches' actress Ayda Al-Qussi is happy about the bright future of the Saudi film industry

He has had a special conversation with Arab News in which he also mentioned the mentioned series while giving details about the artistic journey.

He said that he entered the world of showbiz in 2019 and worked in several feature films as well as theatre.

Al Qusay has studied clinical psychology from King Saud University and has also taken courses in sign language from Emerson College in the US.

According to him, 'I have always been interested in learning sign language and it has also benefited me in the field of acting because in it you learn how to communicate not only with words but also with body language and expressions. '

He said that the role of eyes and facial expressions is the most important in this.

Al Qusay was nominated as Best Actress for her debut feature film 'Janoon' which was screened at the London Film Festival on 27 October 2021.

Speaking about his role in the series 'Rise of the Witches', Al Qusay said that when you shoot horror films, he has to get into that role. I am playing the role of Jiji in it, for which I tried to act by immersion.

According to him, even after being told to cut by the director, I could not understand how to get out of this character.

"They said cut, but I was immersed in the role, so the director then said, cut, I still didn't stop," continued Al Cosay, "and that's probably why I got the award for it." .'

Al Qusay is one of the few Saudi actresses who has trained in stunts, which she describes as her extra speciality.

"Learning all the fighting techniques with swords and other weapons is not an easy task, but then I did it, it required a lot of physical energy, which I was not ready for at first," he said.

"Then I thought that if I learned this, I would be able to advance in the world of stunts."

Al Kosay believes that the future of the film industry in the kingdom is bright and more people should come forward in the field of acting.
