"The changed status of Ukraine is not recognized", the resolution in the Security Council

The United Nations Security Council is voting today on a resolution condemning the referendum to annex several regions of Ukraine occupied by Russia.

According to the French news agency AFP, this resolution was prepared by the United States and Albania.

The resolution is unlikely to pass because of Moscow's veto power, but it could be tabled in the General Assembly later.

The meeting will be held on Friday afternoon at three o'clock. U.S. diplomat Linda Thomas Greenfield said the text of the resolution would condemn the referendum, described by the West as "shameful," and would ask member states not to recognize the changed status of Ukraine and Russia. Force them to withdraw their troops from Ukraine.'
Although member states are confident that Russia will veto the resolution, all eyes are on India and China.

The two countries abstained from voting on a resolution condemning Moscow's invasion of Ukraine in February, but China earlier this week called for all countries to respect "territorial integrity".

The General Assembly vote will highlight how isolated Russia has become on the international stage.

On the other hand, Russia has said that "Germany knows that gas leakage from pipelines into the Baltic Sea is the result of state-sponsored terrorism."

The European Union is investigating the Nord One and Nord Two pipeline leaks into the sea.

The EU says it suspects the damage to the coasts of Denmark and Sweden is the result of 'sabotage'.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said: "This appears to be a possible state-level terrorist act." It is very difficult to imagine that such an act of terrorism can take place without the involvement of the state.

Russia has said that America has benefited in a war of words with the West regarding who is responsible.

Moscow has previously said that the leak took place in an area under the full control of US intelligence agencies.

EU leaders will discuss the impact of the losses at a summit in Prague next week, an EU official said.

On Monday, there were reports of a gas leak from the Nord pipeline through the Baltic Sea, cutting off gas supplies.

It is not yet clear whether it was an accident or there were other motives, so who could be behind them.

Russia has cut gas supplies to Europe in response to sanctions imposed after its invasion of Ukraine.
