Yanbu Industrial City has been recognized by UNESCO as the second learning city

 UNESCO, the organization of training, science and culture under the United Nations, has said that Yanbu Industrial City has been recognized as the second learning city of the kingdom after Al Jabeel Industrial City. In 2020, Jabil Industrial City was included in the Learning Cities of the World.

According to the Saudi news agency SPA, UNESCO has decided to recognize Yanbu Industrial City as a learning city because of its good quality of education and providing an environment for lifelong learning to all members of the society.

The Saudi Ministry of Education in collaboration with the Yanbu Royal Commission is implementing the Learning Cities Project across the kingdom.

The Saudi Ministry of Education is implementing the UNESCO Standard on Learning Cities in partnership with the Royal Commission in Yanbu.

One of the main criteria set by UNESCO is that lifelong learning should be available to all city dwellers.

  The second criterion is that the required information provides guidance and support.

Provide learning centers within community centers and families. Basic needs of education should be provided to the disabled. Assistance should be provided for converting public and private institutions into educational institutions.
