The Environment Task Force in Saudi Arabia has detained 26 Saudi nationals for illegal hunting. Weapons used for hunting have also been taken into custody from the possession of the accused.

On receiving the information, the environmental force tracked down the accused and arrested them. Three guns, pistols, 10 air guns, 1453 rounds, 5 hunting nets, 38 bird catching nets were recovered from the possession of the illegal hunters.
Colonel Abdul Rahman Al-Otaibi, the spokesman of the Environment Protection Force, said that "entering the hunting ground without permission is fined 5,000 Rials, while the fine for hunting in prohibited places is also 5,000 Rials".
Colonel Al-Otaibi added that "According to the law, a fine of 100,000 Rials is imposed on the use of raptors, bird hunting nets and devices that surround birds, while 80,000 Riyals are imposed on the use of firearms in prohibited places."
Regarding the determination of fines, he said that "the relevant committee determines the fines by looking at the nature of the weapons recovered from the illegal hunters and the nature of the nets used for hunting".
