Attempt to smuggle more than 700,000 narcotic pills at Riyadh Airport and Haditha check post failed

 Saudi authorities have foiled four attempts to smuggle 756,212 narcotic pills through King Khalid International Airport Riyadh and Haditha Bari border check post.

Narcotic pills were being tried to be smuggled very skillfully by hiding them in the luggage.

 
According to the Saudi news agency SPA, the Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority said in a statement on Friday that "Customs officials at the Haditha Check Post and King Khalid Airport searched the goods with the help of security technology and detection dogs."

An attempt to bring 1 lakh 71 thousand 792 narcotic pills hidden in furniture at King Khalid International Airport was foiled.

 An attempt was made to smuggle 60,500 narcotic pills into a vehicle loaded on a trailer at the Haditha check post.

 The authority said in a statement that 276,000 narcotic pills were being hidden in different parts of a truck at the Al-Hadith check post. Another attempt to smuggle drugs through the Haditha check post was foiled and more than 2 lakh narcotic tablets were seized.

It was said in the statement that "on receiving the information about the smuggling of narcotic pills, in cooperation with the Anti-Narcotics Department, the three persons who had come to receive the narcotic pills were arrested from within the country."
