The Federal Authority for Identity and Nationality of the United Arab Emirates says that a medical insurance policy has been made mandatory for foreigners coming to the UAE.
According to the Emirati newspaper, obtaining a medical insurance policy has been declared mandatory for holders of visit visa, golden residence or online work visa to come to the UAE.

The visa application must be accompanied by a medical insurance policy with a premium of 120 dirhams. In addition to the new golden visa entrants, long-term visitor visa holders, which are valid for 5 years, will also be required to obtain medical insurance.
The aim of the medical insurance policy is to provide complete medical facilities to the visitors to the Emirates and their families so that they can avail medical treatment services if needed.
In this regard, insurance companies in the emirate have introduced various insurance policy schemes for visit visas following the new law so that medical insurance holders can get a package according to their budget.
It should be noted that there are different categories of visit visas to the Emirates which include tourism, visiting relatives and friends, work visitors, employment visas, business visas, treatment, education, training and courtesy visas.
