California: Instant messaging application WhatsApp is rolling out a new privacy feature on its beta channel for Android users. This feature is one of three features that Mark Zuckerberg announced in August.

This feature is currently available to some beta testers that prevents users from taking a screenshot of an image that can only be opened once and recording a video that can only be viewed once. Whenever the recipient of the message tries to take a screenshot of such an image, WhatsApp will tell that 'you can't take a screenshot due to security policy'.
WhatsApp Beta Info said that if someone takes a screenshot or screen recording while bypassing the security measures, they get nothing but a black screen as a result.
However, this feature does not notify the message sender of a screenshot or screen recording attempt. Also, this feature does not prevent the user from taking pictures or making videos from another device.
Currently this feature is available for beta testers but there is no final information about its general release. Hopefully this feature will be rolled out in the coming weeks.
