Ukrainian president contacts Saudi crown prince, thanks for support of regional autonomy

 President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky has said on Friday that he has telephoned Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.

According to Arab News, the Ukrainian president said during a telephone call that he "thanks the Saudi crown prince and prime minister for the kingdom's stance in support of Ukraine's regional autonomy."

Saudi Arabia recently voted in favor of a UN resolution not to recognize Moscow's annexation of four Russian-held territories.

The president of Ukraine also said that he and the Saudi Crown Prince agreed to continue contacts for the release of more prisoners of war.

It may be recalled that Prince Mohammed bin Salman mediated the release of ten prisoners from different countries as part of the prisoner exchange process between Russia and Ukraine last month.

The President of Ukraine said that he and Prince Mohammed bin Salman also agreed on the provision of macro-financial assistance to Ukraine by Saudi Arabia.

Earlier, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky thanked the Saudi Crown Prince for the fruitful efforts to exchange prisoners between Russia and Ukraine.
