Egypt Air, in cooperation with Palestinian airlines, has established an airlift to Jeddah's King Abdulazir International Airport to transport 5,000 Palestinians to perform Umrah.
According to Arab News, the chairman of the board of the Egyptian airline, Yahya Zakaria, said that the above-mentioned measure was taken after the decision of the Ministry of Civil Aviation of Egypt, which said that the Palestinian brothers will be allowed to pay the Hajj and Umrah at Haram Sharif. The chairman of the board of the airline, Ahab al-Tahtawi, said that the new Boeing B787-9 aircraft will be used for the first time for these flights, which will make four flights a month.
The Boeing B787-9 aircraft has the capacity to carry 309 passengers.
General Manager of Palestinian Airlines, Jamal Al-Mashravi, thanked EgyptAir for providing assistance to facilitate Hajj and Umrah pilgrims.
In July, EgyptAir operated 144 flights to bring back 10,000 Palestinian, Egyptian and Malian Hajj pilgrims from Saudi Arabia.
