The number of cases of Covid-19 in China has increased rapidly while 2 more people have died as a result of the disease.
Earlier on November 20, an 87-year-old man suffering from corona virus lost his life in Beijing, which was the first death from covid since May 2022.
On November 21, 2 more patients died of Covid-19 in Beijing.
According to the China National Health Commission, an 81-year-old woman and an 88-year-old man died of the disease.
The Commission said that both were diagnosed with moderate severity of Covid symptoms but were already suffering from different diseases.The number of cases in China has increased significantly in recent weeks due to new strains of the coronavirus that are spreading more rapidly.
More than 20,000 cases are being reported daily since the last 5 days due to which lockdown has been imposed in various states.
More than 27,000 new cases were confirmed by the National Health Commission on November 21.
900 cases were reported in Beijing while more than 8 thousand cases were reported in Guangzhou.
Schools in several districts of Beijing have been closed after the spike in cases, with more stringent restrictions likely to be imposed.
