ISLAMABAD: A major road transport agreement has been signed between Pakistan and Russia under which travel and goods will be facilitated between the two countries.
Federal Communications Minister Maulana Asad Mehmood met with Russian Transport Minister Vitaly Saveliev in which Maulana Asad Mehmood signed an agreement on international road transport between Pakistan and Russia.The agreement will enable smooth movement of goods and travel by road between Pakistan and Russia and transport operations will be carried out on the basis of road transport permits.
It was agreed in the meeting that a joint working group would be formed to agree on operational modalities and review implementation issues.
Maulana Asad Mehmood said that Russia is a resource-rich and technologically advanced country, this agreement will pave the way for establishing trade links and public relations between the two countries.
The federal minister said that the Russia-Ukraine war will end soon and peace will be restored in the region so that commercial activities can continue as usual.
