Airstrikes on Ukrainian capital, sirens blaring throughout the night

Russia has launched more attacks on the capital of Ukraine, Kiev. Several buildings were reportedly destroyed in the attacks between Thursday and Friday night, while authorities issued instructions to residents to move to safer places.

According to the British news agency Reuters, the latest situation has emerged a few hours after Russia's largest ever air attack.

According to the report, the city government of Kyiv issued an alert on the Telegram app at around 2:00 am and alarm sirens were also sounded.

"The attacks by drones are continuing," Kiev Governor Oleksiy Kyubela said on Telegram.

Shortly before this, in his video address between Thursday and Friday night, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that "Air Commands have shot down 54 Russian missiles and 11 drones in southern, eastern and western Ukraine."

Zielinski acknowledged that electricity is not available in most parts of the country.

"We are trying but restoration of electricity in these areas is very difficult."

Appreciating his soldiers, he said that the attacks are being resisted vigorously.

Reuters also obtained a video from Thursday showing workers searching through the rubble of shelled houses in Kiev.

Earlier, officials said that more than 120 missiles were fired at the city on Thursday.

Ukraine's Defense Ministry says 18 residents and 10 other buildings have been destroyed in the latest attacks.

Keep in mind that during the last few years, Russia has repeatedly attacked energy sources, due to which most of the areas are deprived of electricity and gas and the residents are facing severe difficulties due to extreme cold weather.

Russia attacked the neighboring country of Ukraine on February 24 this year, since then, continuous fighting has been going on.

After the attack, many Western countries, including the United States, also imposed economic sanctions on Russia, but the war could not stop.

Russian President Vladimir Putin says that the war will continue until Ukraine surrenders, while Ukrainian President Zelensky says that there will be no surrender.

Russian President Putin has also threatened to use nuclear weapons, which has increased global concerns.
