The situation in the four Ukrainian regions annexed by Russia is very serious: President Putin

Russian President Vladimir Putin has said that the situation in the four Ukrainian regions annexed by Russia is "extremely serious".

According to the French news agency AFP, after the referendum in September, President Putin announced the annexation of four Ukrainian regions to Russia.

Ukraine and the West condemned the annexation.

President Vladimir Putin's forces do not have full control of any territory and were forced to retreat from the capital of Kherson in the southern region last month.

Talking to the Russian security services, he said that the situation in Donetsk, Luhansk People's Republic, Kherson and Zaporizhia is very serious.

"The people who are living there, the citizens of Russia, they depend on you," President Putin told the security services in the "new regions of Russia."

Putin's statement came after his visit to neighboring Belarus. In February, Belarus authorized an invasion of Ukraine from its territory.

Regarding the visit of the Russian President, Ukraine has said that there is a threat of another possible attack from the territory of Belarus, but its army is ready.

Ukrainian Army General Lt. Sergiy Naif has said that he is closely monitoring the transfer of arms from Russia.

Hundreds of thousands of civilians have fled to neighboring countries after Russia's invasion in February, with cities in ruins.
