Tennis star Novak Djokovic has been barred from entering Australia

Serbia's world number one tennis star Novak Djokovic has been barred from entering the country by the Australian government for failing to meet Corona's safety requirements.

According to Reuters, the world number one tennis star has been a nine-time Open tennis champion who arrived in Australia on Thursday to participate in the Australian Open.

The Australian Border Force has confirmed that the tennis star's visa has also been revoked.

"Novak Djokovic's visa has been revoked," Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison said in a tweet on Thursday. Principles are rules, especially when it comes to our borders. "

Scott Morrison added in his message: "No one is above the law. Australia remains one of the countries with the lowest number of corona cases due to strict sanctions imposed on the corona virus, and we will continue to be cautious.

On Tuesday, Novak Djokovic tweeted in which he wished his fans a Happy New Year. He expressed frustration over the ban on entry into Australia.

Australian Open defending champion Novak Djokovic has in the past been seen opposing the coronavirus vaccine. Prior to his arrival in Australia, he had claimed that he had been allowed to play in the tournament without being vaccinated.

Djokovic is currently being held at an immigration detention center in Melbourne and could be deported.

The Serbian star has challenged the Australian government's decision in court. An appeal against his deportation will be heard in a court at 4pm Australian time.

On the other hand, Serbian President Aleksandar VuÚ†i said in a statement in support of Djokovic that "the whole of Serbia is with him (Djokovic)."

"In the light of international law, Serbia will fight the case of Novak Djokovic for justice and for truth."
