Yasir Shah acquitted: I will file defamation suit against defaulters

Pakistan's Test cricketer Yasir Shah's name has been dropped from the case registered in the alleged abuse case.

On Wednesday, the SHO of Shalimar police station in the federal capital Islamabad said that Yasir Shah had nothing to do with the case and his name had been removed from the FIR.

In the petition filed by the victim at Shalimar police station, Yasir Shah's name was requested to be removed from the case.

Yasir Shah said in a tweet that with the prayers and support of Pakistan Cricket Board, family and fans, the harassment case against him has been dropped. This would not have been possible without their trust. I am the representative of Pakistan, whoever tries to discredit me is actually discrediting the country.

"I was shocked but instead of taking personal revenge, I brought the facts to light through the court. Only enemies of the country can fall to this extent based on their personal interests.

He said he would file a defamation suit against the defamers.

The victim had admitted in the petition that Yasir Shah's name was included in the FIR due to misrepresentation.

The petition further stated that the flat mentioned in the case does not belong to Yasir Shah and when I contacted Yasir Shah on this issue, he was very upset and he told me that he had no connection with this case. There is no connection and I am out of the country.

According to the text of the petition, "Farhan (alleged friend) used only Yasir Shah's name and I request to remove Yasir Shah's name from the FIR once the facts are known."

An additional report of FIR has also been issued in this regard.
