ISLAMABAD: Former Interior Minister and Senator Rehman Malik has passed away at the age of 70.
According to Express News, former Interior Minister and Senator Rehman Malik passed away at the age of 70. The death was reported by his brother Khalid Malik. He expressed deep sorrow and grief over his brother's death. Rehman Malik was on a ventilator at a private hospital in Islamabad due to corona and could not recover. He also had a lung condition.
Rehman Malik is survived by a widow and two sons. He was born in Sialkot in 1951. He received his M.Sc.
Rehman Malik was a member of the Senate from the PPP from 2018. He was the Interior Minister of Pakistan from 2008 to 2013. Before entering politics, he was also the head of the FIA. Senator Rehman Malik was awarded Sitara-e-Shujaat and Nishan-e-Imtiaz by the Government of Pakistan for his outstanding performance.
Senator Rehman Malik is one of the trusted and loyal associates of Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Shaheed. On his death, the PPP leadership and other political and social figures have expressed deep sorrow and prayed for his forgiveness.
