It is stated in the agenda that if permission is granted, the opposition will present a no-confidence motion against Prime Minister Imran Khan in the House.
The no-confidence motion has the signatures of 152 members of the opposition.
Opposition parties have 162 members in the National Assembly, but three were absent from Friday's session.
One of the three independent members, Ali Wazir, is in Karachi jail. Jam Abdul Karim, a PPP member of the National Assembly, is abroad.
Similarly, Maulana Abdul Akbar Chitrali, a Member National Assembly from Chitral belonging to Jamaat-e-Islami, has not yet made a clear announcement to support the opposition in the no-confidence motion and is awaiting the party's instructions.
On the other hand, the allies of the ruling party PTI have not yet shown their cards.
The main coalition parties of the government are in constant touch with the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) and PML-Q opposition leaders while the ministers are also meeting them and persuading them to continue supporting PTI and Imran Khan.
