Organizers of the Cairo International Film Festival have announced that the 44th Film Festival will be held from 13 to 22 November 2022.
According to Arab News, the award-winning films will be screened at the Cairo Opera House during the International Film Festival.
Films will be able to register for the annual event from May 15 to August 15.
Leading Egyptian actor and festival president Hussein Fahmy said in a statement that preparations for the 44th Film Festival have begun and we are hoping that this edition will gain a reputation worthy of the festival's legacy.
"We have teamed up with the programming team to focus on the major films expected this year and the quality of the films will be reviewed in every possible way," said festival director Amir Ramses.
The 43rd edition of last year's Cairo International Film Festival featured 98 films from 63 countries.
The films had 27 world premieres, seven international premieres, 44 Middle East and North African premieres and 15 Arab premieres.
Last year, more than 40,000 tickets were sold for the 2021 event of the film festival, while the number was lower in the previous year due to the global epidemic Corona.
Leading Egyptian actress Nellie was given the Career Achievement Award and Egyptian actor Karim Abdulaziz was given the Fatan Hamama Award at the festival.
