Summit in Saudi Arabia: Welcome to Egypt, Bahrain and Jordan

The leaders of Egypt, Bahrain and Jordan have welcomed the Saudi-hosted summit in July.

The US Regional Summit in Jeddah next month was at the top of the agenda for a meeting between Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa of Bahrain and King Abdullah of Jordan in the Egyptian city of Sharm el-Sheikh on Sunday.

According to Arab News, US President Joe Biden will visit Jeddah on July 15-16, where he will discuss with other leaders the energy crisis, the wars in Ukraine and Yemen, the Iranian nuclear file, cybersecurity and food security.

The leaders stressed the need to expand trilateral cooperation in all fields to meet the aspirations of their people and enhance regional security and stability.

The leaders stressed the need to support a "legitimate" Palestinian struggle and a "two state solution" that led to the establishment of an independent Palestinian state on the borders of East Jerusalem on June 4, 1967.

Efforts to reach a political solution to regional crises, as well as comprehensive counter-terrorism efforts, were discussed.

The three leaders welcomed the Saudi-hosted summit in July, which would bring together leaders from GCC member states and leaders from Jordan, Egypt, Iraq and the United States.

In the bilateral meeting, Al-Sisi and Shah Hamad also discussed enhancing economic and investment cooperation.

An official spokesman for the Egyptian presidency said that "Egypt is committed to continuing bilateral cooperation with Bahrain in various fields, accelerating the pace of joint cooperation for progress in the Middle East and meeting various regional and international challenges." The joint Arab movement wants to expand.

Shah Hamad said his visit to Egypt was "a continuation of the historic and distinguished relationship that connects the two countries, governments and peoples, and their common destiny and future."

The King of Bahrain praised Egypt's efforts to play an important and strong role for security and stability in the region and to promote joint Arab initiatives.

He also expressed his desire to deepen ties with the North African country.
