In Saudi Arabia, the attraction of women towards aerial yoga is being seen. It involves swinging weightlessly a few feet above the ground and practicing yoga against the law of gravity.
According to Arab News, the aerial yoga class repeats similar practices to yoga on the ground, which is becoming a growing trend here.
Aerial yoga uses a silk fabric hammock suspended from the ceiling instead of supporting your own weight.
Aerial yoga teacher and fitness freelancer Sara Farhood said that she started practicing yoga when she was a medical student. Later decided to take flying classes and never looked back.
She got so involved with aerial yoga that she became a freelance instructor in 2016 and now teaches aerial fitness classes at several locations in Riyadh.
Sarah Farhood said that girls are now interested in doing stunts because they like the challenge. She now trusts the silky swing and isn't afraid to hang upside down, which she wasn't before.

Sara explained that the Silky Swing is designed to help build flexibility and strength while these exercises allow for more challenging poses and body flexibility without putting extra stress on the shoulders, spine or head.
If your life is stressful, add aerial yoga exercises to your routine and discover the joy of using a silky fabric as a swing.
During these exercises you can take deep breaths and enjoy these moments.
According to Sarah Farhood, in all the classes I've attended, everyone seems happy and having a good time doing aerial yoga.
She said, "I think that in view of Vision 2030, this game can be introduced in more parks and community centers with access to the general public."
Rawa Al-Shaf is also an aerial yoga instructor who trained in Paris and plans to introduce it to the kingdom.
She said that when I returned from Paris, there was no aerial yoga class anywhere in Jeddah, after which I decided to open a center in Jeddah.
Initially conducted classes at home and then started taking classes by going to another gym, after which a center named Aerial Arts Studio was established from 2018.
Rawa al-Shaf said that seeing the interest of women in aerial yoga, the number of trainers increased and women were allowed to open their own training centers in 2017, currently there are 508 instructors.
He added that aerial yoga is becoming more popular than regular yoga and it has been observed that people enjoy the more challenging work.
Aerial yoga is gaining popularity as a growing fitness trend in Saudi Arabia, and the Ministry of Commerce has started promoting yoga as a sport and issuing licenses to practice it in the Kingdom since November 2017.
