Attacks on health centers in Ukraine, '100 people killed in six months'

The World Health Organization (WHO) has said there have been 473 confirmed attacks on health facilities and workers in Ukraine since the Russian attack six months ago, killing nearly 100 people.

According to Arab News, on Wednesday, Hans Kluge, the head of WHO Europe, described the attacks as 'unreasonable'.

According to WHO data, 98 people were killed and at least 134 people were injured in these attacks.

About 400 attacks during this period targeted health facilities, damaging transport, warehouses, staff and patients, including ambulances.

Jarno Habicht, the WHO representative in Ukraine, said that there is no such example of attacks on health facilities.

"These attacks are not only a violation of international law, but also a hindrance to many people who worked to restore health during the war," he told reporters in Geneva via video link from a bunker in Dnipro. Needed.'

WHO chief Tedros Ghebreyesus said that although the war had a devastating impact on the health and lives of the people of Ukraine, the health system was not completely destroyed.

"But no system can provide optimal health to its people under the stress of war," he added. This is the reason why we continue to demand Russia to end this war.

Ukraine's ambassador to the United Nations, Yevgenia Filippenko, has said that 19 out of 20 missile attacks on the country over the past six months have targeted civilian targets.

"It is not only health institutions but also residential buildings (which) have been targeted," he added.

"The level of damage and destruction is unbelievable."

He said that educational facilities, private houses and cultural places have been affected or completely destroyed.
