'Historic' auction of Microsoft co-founder's art collection

Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen's personal collection worth more than a billion dollars is going to be auctioned.

According to the AFP news agency, Christie's, a large British auction company, has announced that these works include a painting by a famous French artist of the 19th century, which is worth more than 100 million dollars.

According to Christie's, the auction in November will include 150 works of art, some of which are 500 years old. Among them is a painting by the famous American artist Jasper Johns, which is worth more than 50 million dollars.

Among the works to be auctioned are paintings by famous 19th-century French artists Claude Monet, Ed Wa Manet and Austrian painter Gustav Klimt.

According to Christie's, this will be the largest and most unique auction in history.

The co-founder of Microsoft died in 2018 at the age of 65. He founded this company in 1975 along with Bill Gates.

According to Paul Allen's wishes, proceeds from the auction will go to charity, Christie's said.

Christie's chief Guillaume Cerotti believes there is no other collection quite like Paul Allen's art collection.

He said that Paul Allen had an emotional relationship with art and at the same time he looked at it with an analytical eye.

"Paul believed that art reflects a unique perspective on life."

Paul Allen left Microsoft in 1983 due to health problems and a strained relationship with Bill Gates.
