Lebanon: A woman who was burned by her husband for refusing an abortion died

 A Lebanese woman, who was tortured and set on fire by her husband during an argument over her refusal to have an abortion, died Wednesday while undergoing treatment.

Arab News quoted Lebanon's Arabic newspaper Al-Nahar Dakcom as saying that 21-year-old Hanna Muhammad Kodur was taken to the hospital with serious injuries. Hina Muhammad's husband set her on fire with a gas cylinder of the house, after which her entire body was burnt.

According to a media report, when Hina Muhammad, who was five months pregnant, refused to have an abortion despite her husband's request, he started beating her and then set her on fire.

Her husband was not in favor of having a child due to the recent economic crisis in Lebanon.

When Arab News contacted Al-Salam Hospital where Muhammad Kadoor was admitted, the spokesperson of the hospital said that Hina Muhammad was brought to the hospital on August 6.

At that time, Dakar had said that "Hina Muhammad is currently undergoing a life and death struggle in the ICU." She was five months pregnant when the incident happened. Her baby is dead and we are operating on her. Their chances of survival are very less.

According to the medical report, Hina Muhammad received third degree injuries.
