Masam Project: 921 more mines defused in Yemen

 A further 921 mines have been cleared from Yemen in the third week of August under the supervision of the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre's flagship project Masam.

According to the official news agency of Saudi Arabia, the Houthi militia has laid landmines throughout Yemen, due to which accidents occur every day, but under the KS relief project, the work of deactivating the landmines is going on.

The tunnels defused in the third week of August included 51 anti-personnel tunnels, 276 anti-tank mines, 590 different types of weapons and four explosive devices.

The total number of mines removed under the supervision of the King Salman Relief Center has reached 2,542.

It should be noted that since the beginning of 2018, 3 lakh 54 thousand 857 mines have been found and defused in Yemen under the Masam project.

Apart from this, Saudi Arabia's King Salman Aid Center has also signed an agreement for the construction of a primary health care center at a cost of one and a half million dollars in Yemen's Hadramaut area.


Funded by the Salim bin Mahfouz Foundation, the center will serve residents who lack access to critical health services in the Al-Hajrain area.

The official news agency WAS reported that the agreement was signed in view of Saudi Arabia's efforts to help the Yemeni people in various fields and help them lead a dignified life.
