A nursing home for the elderly in Japan has been forced to hire young children to perform critical work for which they will be paid.
According to the news agency AFP, a nursing home called Kitakyusho advertised for jobs to recruit children, but they should not be more than four years old.
The children's parents or guardians must sign a contract with the nursing home under which the children can come to work whenever they feel like it.

So far more than 30 children have agreed to work in the nursing home. But the question arises, what will be the nature of the work of these children?
According to the nursing home, these children have to keep the over 100 elderly people living in the institution happy, most of whom are over 80 years old.
Kemi Gondo, the head of the nursing home, says that just by seeing a glimpse of these children, the faces of these people light up with joy.
On the door of the nursing home is a large ad that says 'We're Hiring' in big letters.
And at the same time it has been clarified that the new workers will be given milk and diapers for their wages.
Describing the responsibilities of the 'successful candidates', the poster states that they will have to make rounds in the nursing home with their guardian.
The residents of the nursing home are overjoyed with the new recruits and are seen talking to and cuddling the children.
"They're so cute," commented an older man on the new recruits. They remind me of my time when I raised my children.
