Rent a Car, over 13 lakh digital agreements in the Kingdom

 The Public Transport Authority in Saudi Arabia says that 'since the implementation of the law to make digital car rent agreement mandatory for the rent a car service sector, more than 1.3 million digital agreements have been made in the kingdom.'

According to the Saudi News Agency "SPA", the Transport Authority had made digital agreement mandatory for the rent-a-car service this year instead of the traditional paper agreement.

In the statement released by the authority, it has been further said that more than 2400 rent-a-car service organizations are registered in 83 cities and commissionerates of the country. The purpose of the Digital Current Agreement is to protect the rights of the parties to improve the quality of services provided.

Regarding the digital current agreement, the authority said that the highest number of agreements were made in Riyadh, which was 33 percent, while 24 percent were made in the Makkah region and 16 percent in the eastern region.

66 percent of Saudis and 34 percent of foreigners signed digital contracts to rent a car. One hundred and four thousand different types of vehicles are registered in the Rent a Car Service sector.

Regarding the uniform digital agreement, the authority said that the rights of the parties are guaranteed in the agreement, which must be adhered to and legal action is taken for violation.

The authority has also clarified that 'rent a car service providers are obliged to enter into a digital contract with their customers and customers should also not accept traditional paper contracts if the rent a car company In case of violation, the complaint can be registered on the toll-free number 19929.
