Saudi Aid for Famine and Drought Victims in Somalia

 Saudi Arabia's King Salman Center for Relief and Humanitarian Services has started the second phase of the aid campaign in the brotherly country of Somalia to overcome the problems of famine and drought.

According to the official news agency SPA, the head of the King Salman Center, Dr. Abdullah Al-Rabiya, said that more than 52,000 food baskets will be distributed in the second phase. Drinking water will be provided. Somali citizens displaced from affected areas will be provided with essential supplies.

Dr. Al-Rabiya said that many food security projects are being started with the support of United Nations aid organizations. In this regard, the services of civil society organizations will also be obtained.

He said that dates will be distributed among the most needy families. Equipment worth 47 million 128 thousand 626 riyals has been prepared for the second phase of aid projects.

The head of Shah Salman Center said that the first phase of the relief campaign has been completed under which 78 thousand food baskets have been distributed. Their total weight was 5200 tons. Drinking water was also provided while sacrificial meat was also distributed among the drought affected families. 22 million 9 lakh 26 thousand riyals have been spent on it.

Dr. Al-Rubia said that the Saudi government and people are standing with their brothers in Somalia and are doing everything possible to solve their problems.
