Soft drinks are banned in schools: Ministry of Education spokesperson

 Spokesperson of the Saudi Ministry of Education, Ibtisam Al-Shahri, has said that soft drinks are banned in schools. Canteen management in all schools have been asked not to provide soft drinks to students.

According to Sabak News, the spokesperson of the Ministry, Al-Shahri, speaking in a program of Saudi TV "Al-Akhbariya" regarding the beginning of the new academic year, said that "the new academic year is starting from Sunday, August 28 in all regions of the kingdom." Ministry of Education has completed all Tertiary.

"Specific officials have been assigned responsibilities to monitor the schools."

Regarding the food items provided in the school canteen, the spokesperson said that the canteen administration has been informed to arrange healthy food. Any kind of violation will not be tolerated.

He further said that the process of continuous monitoring of the school canteen will continue to ensure that soft drinks are not sold to the students.

"Furthermore, the quality of food provided in the canteen will also be strictly monitored, we have to provide the best environment to the students".
