The Saudi Ministry of Education has released a new educational guide

 The Saudi Ministry of Education has said that Islamic studies and the Holy Quran have been made part of the same subject in the course of primary and middle schools.

According to Akaz newspaper, the Ministry of Education has suspended the guide of the educational schemes of the previous academic year and issued a new guide for the current year and instructed to implement it.

The Ministry of Education has issued a directive to the people responsible for national introduction programs in all government schools, nurseries, Tafiz Qur'an schools, schools for the disabled, adult education, science institutes, Dar al-Hadith schools of Makkah and Madinah, and international schools. Work should be done according to new educational guide instead of old guide of schemes.

The Ministry of Education says that the new guidebook is the second phase of the project to develop education schemes on modern lines.

According to the new guidebook, Islamic Studies and Holy Quran have been made part of the same subject. It is being taught in primary and middle schools under the name of Quran and Islamic Studies subject. Its total number of weekly classes in middle schools has been reduced from 34 to 15, while its number of weekly classes in primary schools has been reduced from 38 to 30. Apart from this, a subject of financial affairs has also been prescribed.
