The WikiLeaks founder has filed an appeal in the UK against extradition to the US

WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange has filed an appeal against Britain's decision to extradite him to the United States.

Julian Assange, 51, has been sentenced to 175 years in prison for 17 counts of espionage.

According to the statement released by WikiLeaks, Julian Assange's lawyers have filed an appeal against the United States and British Home Secretary Priti Patel in the High Court of Great Britain.

The British Home Secretary approved Julian Assange's extradition to the US in June 2022.

Julian Assange's lawyers say the WikiLeaks founder is being punished for his political views.

His wife Stella Assange says the cases against Julian Assange are illegal and the evidence proves the US efforts against her husband are criminal.
