Two judges were fined 200 million dollars for bribery in America

Harrisburg: A court in the US state of Pennsylvania has ordered two former judges, Michael Conahan and Mark Civarella, to pay a fine of 200 million dollars for taking bribes.

According to the American Broadcasting Agency, two former judges of the state of Pennsylvania were charged with taking a huge bribe in the 'Kids for Cash' case, in which the accused were found to have received 2.8 million dollars in bribes.

It was established in court that these sums were received by both judges as bribes in return for forcibly sending children to for-profit child prisons. These judges gave harsh sentences to children as young as 8 years old.

Judges Michael Conahan and Mark Civarella were both dismissed and sentenced after the court scandal came to light, but now the court has ordered the two judges to pay hundreds of victims $20 million in fines.
