The Saudi Ministry of Local Government, Rural and Settlement Affairs and the Ministry of Commerce have announced six basic conditions regarding barber shops.
According to the Urgent website, the ministries have said that 'barbershops must display the price list in a prominent place and ensure payment by card.'
Standard tissue paper should be used instead of towels. A medicated spray should be used to clean the shaving machine.
Rust proof shaving machine should be used. No medical service should be provided for urgent diseases.
Barbershop workers must obtain a health certificate stating that the worker is immune to communicable diseases.
The Ministry of Commerce and Ministry of Local Government warned that violations of the regulations would be dealt with.
Citizens and resident foreigners have been asked to file a complaint if they do not see the price list displayed in a barber shop and online payment facility is not available.
