Project Approval for Fastest Internet Service in Pakistan

 ISLAMABAD: The Board of Directors of Universal Service Fund (USF), a subsidiary of the Ministry of IT and Telecommunication, has approved ten projects worth 21 billion rupees.

According to the details, under the projects approved by the Board of Directors of the Universal Service Fund, connectivity services should be provided in the backward and remote areas of the four provinces of Punjab, Balochistan, Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. will

The 83rd meeting of the Board of Directors of Universal Service Fund was held under the chairmanship of Additional Secretary (in-charge) Ministry of IT Mohsin Mushtaq. Officialsattended.

CEO Universal Service Fund Haris Mehmood Chaudhry briefed the meeting about working on the current projects.

In this regard, Federal Minister of IT and Telecommunication Syed Aminul Haque congratulated the team and board members of USF for the approval of 10 projects.

The Federal Minister of IT said in his message that the Ministry of IT has taken another integrated initiative through its subsidiary Universal Service Fund to fulfill the Digital Pakistan Vision. These projects are social equality, providing employment opportunities in remote areas, Strengthening of digital infrastructure and digital literacy will be helpful. It is gratifying that we are on the path of connectivity and smartphone for all policy and are playing our role in socio-economic development of the country.

While addressing the meeting of USF Board of Directors, Additional Secretary (in-charge) Ministry of IT and Chairman US Board Mohsin Mushtaq said that under the leadership of Federal Minister for IT Syed Aminul Haq, Universal Service Fund has contracted 79 projects in the last four years. He has given a record performance. Highlighting the importance of internet access and infrastructure.

He reiterated to work together with all stakeholders to achieve the vision of Digital Pakistan.

CEO Universal Service Fund Haris Mehmood Chaudhry told the meeting that these projects will benefit more than 3.3 million people living in remote areas of the country. Five billion rupees projects are for high-speed broadband services under which 4G services will be provided in remote districts of Punjab, Sindh and Balochistan.

People living in 262 mozas of Dera Ghazi Khan, Leh, Muzaffargarh, Multan, Rajanpur, Jamshoro, Barkhan, Mosakhil, Shirani and Sabi will benefit. Two projects costing six billion rupees are National Highways and There are high-speed mobile broadband on the highways, while three projects worth seven billion rupees are to connect 187 union councils of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab with optical fiber cable.
