ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has started considering the purchase of oil from Russia on delayed payments.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif's meetings with Russian President Putin during the Shanghai Cooperation Organization meeting in historic Samarkand, Uzbekistan, discussed the issue.
Official sources accompanying the Prime Minister in this conference told The Express Tribune that the Prime Minister had 3 meetings with the Russian President. Among them, one was formal and two were informal. In these meetings, the issue of oil purchase from Russia has also been considered.
Official sources said on condition of anonymity in view of the sensitivity of the matter that Russia is ready to fuel Pakistan's recent atrocities.

Former Prime Minister Imran Khan has repeatedly accused the US of having a hand in the downfall of his government. However, America has always denied opposition in Pakistan's internal affairs.
Observers say that the recent meetings between Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and President Putin negate the conspiracy theory created by Imran Khan.
These developments in Pakistan-Russia relations are taking place at a time when a top American adviser has recently visited Islamabad and the US administration has also approved $450 million for the purchase of F-16 aircraft parts.
