Spain's professional women's soccer league has been canceled after the tournament's female referees refused to pay their responsibilities without better wages for their services.
According to the AP News Agency, the season of the professional women's football league was supposed to start on Saturday, however, the statement issued by the league stated that it is not possible to hold the games due to the non-arrival of women's match referees.

Referees and assistant referees appointed to the Women's Football League, which is all female, say the new professional league has increased funding for female players without removing referees' concerns.
The president of the New Women's Football League, Beatriz Alvarez, has placed all the responsibility for this situation on the Spanish Football Federation and government officials in charge of sports policy.
The Spanish Football Federation has tried to boycott the professional women's football league since the beginning and the Supreme Sports Council has supported it, says the league president.
Female referees complain that they are paid only 320 euros while assistants are paid only 160 euros per game, which is a very low wage.
It should be noted that the Barcelona team is the winner of the 2021 Champions League and has won the Spanish league in the last three seasons.
