The condition of purchase in prize contests is illegal, Ministry of Commerce

 The Ministry of Commerce has warned that the purchase is not necessary to participate in prize competitions organized in commercial establishments.

According to Akhbar 24, a person on Twitter of the Ministry of Trade inquired that a purchase condition is imposed to participate in the prize contests organized in commercial institutions, is this process legally correct?

In response to the question, the Ministry of Commerce said that the purchase condition imposed for participation in prize competitions is not valid.

A complaint can be filed against the owners of the commercial establishments which the Ministry of Commerce will take immediate action on.

The ministry further said that for recording any kind of trade violation, Ministry of Commerce toll-free number 1900 or the app 'Balagh-e-Bashkar' has been provided where a complaint of violation of trade laws can be filed.
