 The passport department has taken action against 15 thousand 315 citizens and resident foreigners for violating the Iqama and labor laws.

According to the Saudi Press Agency, these operations were carried out during Safar last month.

The passport department has said that "some of the persons against whom action has been taken have been sentenced to jail, some have been fined while the foreigners will be deported from the country after the punishment period".

The department has instructed citizens and resident foreigners not to cooperate with illegal immigrants crossing the border, except those who violate immigration and labor laws.

The department has said that "facilitating or cooperating with illegal immigrants is a serious crime".

"Doing so can result in imprisonment for up to 15 years and a fine of up to 10 lakh riyals".
