A powerful hurricane caused destruction in the United States; 27 casualties

Washington: The powerful storm 'Ian' caused widespread destruction in Florida as a result of which 27 people were killed and many were injured.

According to the World News Agency, after wreaking havoc in Cuba, the powerful storm Ian, which hit the coast of Florida, has now reached Georgetown, the coast of Carolina, and several areas of the island of Charleston have been flooded.

The floodway is moving through residential areas of Chalston, sweeping away everything in its path. Thousands of citizens had to leave their homes and move to safer places.

Earlier, Hurricane Ian hit the coast of Florida, which was the most powerful hurricane in the history of the United States. In Florida alone, 27 people were killed and more than 2 million people lost power.

Disaster modeling firm Karen Clarke & Company has revealed in its report that the powerful Hurricane Ian may have caused more than $100 billion in damages. This storm has proved to be the deadliest storm in America in terms of damage.

The devastating storm destroyed dozens of older homes on Florida's Sanibel Island, while the lower floors of newer multi-story buildings were severely damaged. Trees and electric poles were scattered in places.

Rescue teams and officials of municipal bodies are moving the citizens surrounded by flood water to safe places.
