Amal Clooney and George Clooney host the first 'Albie Awards' ceremony

 Human rights lawyer Lebanese-born British Amal George Clooney and her American actor husband George Clooney hosted the Albie Awards for the first time this week.

According to Arab News, the ceremony was organized by a couple of well-known personalities in honor of those who have rendered personal service and devoted their lives to the pursuit of justice.

The awards ceremony, held in New York, is named after South African lawyer, activist, author and former judge Justice Albee Sikos.

Justice Albie Sekos, 87, has devoted much of his life to defending people accused of racist laws and oppressive security laws.

During the event, Amal Clooney was seen walking the red carpet in an extravagant beaded gown embellished with silver and gold threads, while her husband, American actor George Clooney, wore a black suit.

Famous actor Oscar Isaac, famous British singer Dua Lipa, British comedian John Oliver, actress Julia Roberts, actress Drew Barrymore, actress Meryl Streep and American actor Ethan Hawke participated in this award ceremony of the Clooney Foundation for Justice.
