Driverless taxis will soon hit the streets of Dubai

 Khalid Al Awadi, the official of the Road and Transport Authority in Dubai, has said that 'driverless taxis will soon be seen on the streets of Dubai.'

According to Khalid Al-Awadi, 'five automatic taxis will be experimentally operated at various locations, driverless taxis will be tested from Jumeirah One Zone.'

According to Emirates News Agency, he said that the test of driverless taxis will be started in the next few weeks and before the end of this year.

The authority is preparing a map for driving smart vehicles in Al Khelj Commercial Zone and City Center. Jumeirah One Zone will also be added to it. These maps were prepared in July.

Al-Awadi said on the occasion of his participation in the Jetex 2022 exhibition that the authority has decorated an automatic taxi to show to the public at its stall at Jetex. It is one of dozens of taxis that have become commonplace in San Francisco. Four more such taxis will be brought and tested in Dubai.

Al-Awadi said that the cruise taxi that is being shown in Jetex is a smart vehicle and it has traveled 50,000 miles in San Francisco. People there have traveled with it.
