Houthi militias to accept ceasefire extension, OIC

 The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has urged the Houthis to become part of the political process and accept an extension of the ceasefire.

According to the Saudi news agency SPA, the OIC said in a statement that the Yemeni crisis cannot be resolved through military force but through political process.

In the statement, the OIC asked the Houthi militia not to create obstacles in the way of a political solution by not abiding by the provisions of the ceasefire and to find any justification not to extend the ceasefire.

The OIC has put all the responsibility on the Houthis for rejecting the proposal of the UN envoy regarding the extension of the ceasefire in Yemen and for trying to spread humanitarian and economic problems and anarchy and terrorism in the region by resuming military activities. .

The OIC then asked the Houthis to accept the ceasefire extension and abide by all its terms.

The OIC appealed to the international community to assist Yemen in bringing the Yemeni people out of hardship and establishing peace and stability and to fulfill its obligations under international law and treaties.
