Russia threatened to destroy American and European commercial satellites

 Moscow: Russia has taken a threatening attitude and said that if the US and European countries try to join the war in Ukraine, their valuable commercial satellites in space will be targeted.

A senior official of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has said that if the United States and its allies enter the war in Ukraine, they will consider targeting the satellites of these countries.

It should be noted that last year Russia successfully tested its anti-satellite missile. Russia had targeted one of its own old satellites with this missile. This shows that Russia has expertise in anti-satellite systems.

On the other hand, Konstantin Vorontsov, deputy head of the non-proliferation department at the Russian Foreign Ministry, has told the United Nations that the US and its allies want to use space for Western hegemony.

Reading from its contents, Konstantin said that the act of helping the Ukraine war from Western satellites is a "very dangerous trend."

Speaking to the UN First Committee, he said that quasi-civilian infrastructures could be targeted in retaliation and satellite support could be a "provocative" act.
